While they previously used 3D animation before, this time they wanted to improve both the action and the render quality of new animations, to take their videos up a level or two.

Their super friendly creative team had ideas about how they wanted to portray these Inceptor Evo lights and their fitting procedures, so they presented us with their storyboards. Now, while we are always happy to see a project from start to finish across the whole pipeline, we are just as happy to play part of a team – as was the case with this project. Scolmore’s creative team in-house are able to create some motion-graphics to tie in with their own print materials, so they only required us to prepare the models for animation from their CAD design files, animate and render these. All our renders were then prepared for Scolmore to received and put together the text, timing, backgrounds, sound, and voiceover.

Their Design Studio Manager reported back to us that Scolmore’s managers, partners and retail outlets are all very happy with the end result of the Inceptor video!

Work in progress:

They had received assets of graphics and video, and these needed to be worked into new renders to tell a new version of the CBRE story. There was a hard drive full of material to work through, to try to figure what was what. But we got there in the end.

After a gruelling 2 weeks, we produced around 10 video / motion graphics pieces, which were combined together to create one long piece.

We’ve a few snippets (without proper audio unfortunately) included below.

Both ST16 and their client were super happy that we managed to deliver in time for the deadline of the tradeshow that CBRE were attending.

When the concept was created, they asked Brace Media to come on board to assist on set for 3D preparations, and to create a 3D garage roof and sign, 3D numbers, and perform all the match moving.

So, this was handled with pleasure once all the relevant shots came to us after filming. Our Dom was on set on the day of the shoot to oversee things for our needs and to take measurements from the set.

Once rendering was complete in HD, we sent the animation sequences back to SPH for them to perform the compositing in-house there.

A short but sweet project, aired on ITV.

As part of their training videos, they wanted to have an animated sting which would appear before their main training.  So they asked us to create a low-budget 3D animation to do this, and told us specific sound effects they wanted to use too.

Once we had done that, they returned to us fairly quickly, asking for the creation of a Christmas themed variation of their original animation.  Of course we were happy to oblige!

The director and producer realised they needed a stylised opening title sequence for their latest movie.  As they had already had a lot of artwork created in a graphic novel style, it made sense to them that the titles also reflect this look too.

So, upon receiving some high resolution graphic novel images, a duration, some music and the ‘go’ signal, we got cracking on these titles running at cinema frame rates in full HD. We were asked to add some blood effects on screen as well, so hit the challenge head on with our custom blood splatters.

The film was premiered at the cinema in Leicester Square, London, and has been well received. We wish the guys at Burn Hand Films continued success with this and future movies!

Having listened to what they wanted, we cracked on with the postcard designs and set up some new 3D image renders for the front side.

Once everything was approved, we quickly printed a run of postcards and shipped them direct to our client ready for their marketing campaign. 

Essentially, the MMA projects needed a new titles opening sequence.  This was to reflect the forward thinking nature of the sport of mixed martial arts, as well as to leave the commercial sequences shown on national TV in the dirt.

So, taking footage from some of the fights, and with much planning, a new sequence was created in After Effects, far more exciting than had been used before.  These sequences went down a storm with the viewers of these videos and helped cement Brace Media’s reputation in this area.

They were giving away 13 pieces of marketing software for free, and wanted a nicer way to entice viewers into signing up for their freebies.

All told, the campaign was a success and they achieved the results they were after.

Our close friends at Verdant Vision were working with them them anyway, and when they wanted to have an animation produced to show in an exciting manner a selection of the areas their tools are used in, they came to us.

The project was pretty large, with a lot of 3D modelling and handling of very detailed CAD models. With a team of up to 10 people at its peak covering various roles from 3D to audio post, we got the animation delivered in time for the large engineering show in Hamburg.

Apparently it even got a bit of a standing ovation for them.

Golley Slater teamed up with their trusted production house, the lovely chaps at Sound and Picture House, who were excited to be working on this project.  After some refining, the guys at SPH gave us a call to give them a bit of assistance with the 3D text to be featured.

This was not a simple task to create, as the commercial was shot in a white studio, with very little in the way of markers (or marks) to for us to track.  Nevertheless, we managed to pull tracking info from the scenes so we could synchronise our virtual cameras with the motions of the real camera from the shoot – this meaning the positions and angles of the text matched the real thing!

Once done, we handed our shiny renders of 3D text back to SPH to piece it together with the footage.

Although done in the first half of 2010, the advert came on air nationally on ITV1 on Boxing Day – much to our joy…!
